Leo and Elsa

LeoLeo & ElsaWe adopted Leo in 2013, he was approximately 9 years of age. Poor Leo, probably a victim of the recession, he had been in kennels for about 18 months.

I imagine that many people would be put off by getting a dog Leo's age but he is fit, healthy and loves to play. A gentle giant, Leo became part of our family the moment he walked into our lives, he asks for very little just, a clean comfy bed, 2 meals a day and a good walk. We have never had any problems with Leo.

We adopted Elsa in March this year, she was very young less than 2 years of age and had come from a breeding establishment.

We were told that she had not had a good start in life and would need a lot of TLC. We understood that she could possibly be a challenge, but nothing had prepared us for the pitiful sight that greeted us at the kennels, she was undernourished, very distressed and very wary of humans.

When we got Elsa home, we decided to leave her in Leo's care so that she could regain her confidence by watching Leo and learn from him. Dogs never to cease to amaze us, Leo seemed to know exactly what to do, he watched over her and soon became her guardian and teacher, he disciplined when she stepped out of line and protected her from other dogs when out walking. In our opinion the most important lesson Leo taught Elsa was that not all humans are bad news.

Leo & Elsa Elsa Elsa

Our wonderful Leo has changed what was a quivering wreck of a dog into a confident fun loving little girl who meets and greets humans and other dogs with the waggiest tail you have ever seen. Elsa is now loving life with her new family and friends.
