Bo, first day in new home.Bo

Bo, being used as a pillowIt's always a joy and a privilege when we do our "follow up" phone calls to the lovely folks who have adopted our dogs. To find out how they are progressing in their new family is great and to be able to continue giving support to them is priceless. Today I was very fortunate and spent some time chatting to Tim and Kath Sharp.

When two dogs needed collecting from rather poor circumstances, Tim went to collect them and fostered them overnight for us. One of them was the lovely Stella, who you may remember needed quite a bit of veterinary attention which the wonderful people in the Ridgeback community raised the cash so that she'd get the treatment she needed. The other, "Bo", melted Tim and Kath's heart and he stayed with them ... for good.

BoBoTim sent me some pictures after our chat so I thought I'd share them with you all so you can see just what can be achieved with love and tender care. In the first picture you can see what a state Bo was in when he was first picked up (The little Ridgie face in the very foreground is Stella).

Since coming to Tim and Kath, Bo has apparently lost lots of weight (they did use to refer to him as "our little fats", but now he is looking fitter than ever and even running about the field with enthusiasm. Tim says he is an absolute star, and in fact while I chatted to him, he described him as "what a dog" and they are obviously absolutely in love with him. Bo's only vice is that he insists on pinching the gloves Tim uses for tending to the fire hearth - and at a tenner a go, he is a monkey!
